Afterthoughts Update #21


This update introduces a visual redesign to the whole project! Say goodbye to that plain desaturated blue. I also ported over the 14th game, Beachfront, which was surprisingly arduous due to the fact that Beachfront was made for HTML5 instead of Windows. On top of that, I made major visual/gameplay updates to both A Heightened Plight and Transfusion. I want to eventually work towards making Afterthoughts more accessible to new players, and so the first impression of those older games is important to me.

I still plan on adding savedata. On top of that, I have a goal for Afterthoughts as a standalone game: I want to include documentary/devlog-style videos for each game that exist to guide players through the collection, add additional context, and share interesting developer commentary. Not to be self-aggrandizing, but I believe Afterthoughts works best when the developer is looking over the player's shoulder. I want the game itself to replicate that feeling for people who don't personally know me.
